CRI Formula

About

How the CriSports Rating Index (CRI), Net Run Rate and match points are calculated — the same maths the scoring engine uses.

CriSports Rating Index (CRI)

CRI = Batting + Bowling + Fielding + Win Bonus + POTM + Captain - Penalty

Tournament MVP = highest average CRI across matches (winning team gets priority).

Consistency bonus (tournament): avg CRI > 20 = +1, > 25 = +2, > 30 = +3.

Batting Score

Base MVP = Runs / 10

SR bonus (min 6 balls): if Player SR ≥ Team SR → (Player SR / Team SR) × SR bonus % × Base MVP. Below Team SR → no bonus.

SR bonus % by format: T20 (0–20 ov) 8% · ODI (21–35 ov) 6% · Long ODI (36–50 ov) 4% · Test (51+ ov) 2%.

Example: 50 runs in a T20 = 5.0 base + strike-rate bonus.

Bowling Score

Base MVP = (BaseRunsPerWicket × Wickets) / 10

Base runs per wicket: T20 18 · ODI 22 · Long ODI 25 · Test 25.

Wicket bonus: 3 wkts +0.5 · 4 wkts +0.75 · 5 wkts +1.0 · 10 wkts +1.5.

SR bonus (min 6 balls): if Team SR ≥ Player SR (bowler conceded less) → (Team SR / Player SR) × SR bonus % × bowling MVP.

Maiden bonus: Maidens / MaidenToWicket × BaseRunsPerWicket / 10 (MaidenToWicket: T20 2 · ODI 3 · Test 6).

Example: 3 wkts in T20 = (18 × 3) / 10 + 0.5 = 5.9 base.

Fielding Score

Catch / caught behind: 20% × BaseRunsPerWicket / 10 (~0.36 for T20).

Stumping: 20% × BaseRunsPerWicket / 10 (~0.36 for T20).

Run out (any): BaseRunsPerWicket / 10 (1.8 for T20) — run outs are fielder wickets, the bowler gets zero credit.

Bonuses

Winning team: +1.00 · Player of the Match: +3.00 · Winning captain: +1.00.

Penalties

Duck (0 runs, got out): −2.00 · Hit wicket: −0.50 · Timed out: −1.00.

ICC Net Run Rate (NRR)

NRR = (Runs Scored / Overs Faced) - (Runs Conceded / Overs Bowled)

Convert overs: 19.4 = 19 + 4/6 = 19.6667.

All out → use the full overs quota · Super Over never included · No Result → no NRR update.

Global Match Points

Win 2 · Tie 1 · No Result 1 · Loss 0.

Tie-break: Points > NRR > Wins > Head-to-head > Runs.
